1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Cadence, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
Cadence is intended for current students at participating schools. You must be a verified student to
access school-specific features. You must be at least 13 years of age to use Cadence.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Post harmful, abusive, threatening, or discriminatory content
- Impersonate other students, teachers, or school staff
- Share false or misleading school information
- Upload content that violates others' privacy or copyright
- Use the platform for commercial solicitation
- Attempt to bypass school verification measures
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
4. AI-Generated Content
You may share content created with Shiba or any other AI tool. What you may not do is pass AI-generated
content off as a real photo, real video, or a real event. Presenting synthetic media as something that
actually happened — especially about a real person, a school, or an incident — is a violation of these
terms and may result in removal, strikes, or account termination.
- AI art, AI edits, AI writing and AI study material are all welcome
- Label it yourself when it could be mistaken for a real photo or video
- Never use AI media to fake evidence, quotes, or events involving real people
- Never generate synthetic imagery of another student without their consent
Cadence runs an automated AI detector on uploaded images. When the detector is confident that an image is
synthetic, Cadence adds an “AI-generated” label to the post. The detector is designed to
stay quiet when it is unsure, so ordinary photos are not labelled. If a label is wrong, you can appeal it
from the post menu and a moderator will review it.
5. Content Moderation
Users can delete their own posts and comments. Reported content is reviewed by moderators. We reserve the
right to remove any content that violates these terms and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly
violate our policies.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting on Cadence, you grant us a limited license to display
that content to other verified students at your school.
7. Schedule Data
Your academic schedule is yours. We use it solely to power Cadence features. We do not share your schedule
with your school administration without your explicit consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
Cadence is provided "as is." We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-extracted schedule data. Always
verify your timetable against official school records.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms. Continued use after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
10. Community Rules
To keep Cadence safe and welcoming for students, the following are strictly prohibited:
- Sexual, explicit, or suggestive content of any kind, especially involving minors
- Content that promotes self-harm, eating disorders, violence, or dangerous behavior
- Hate speech, slurs, or content targeting anyone's race, religion, gender, sexuality, or disability
- Doxxing, sharing anyone's private information, or non-consensual images
- Spam, scams, phishing, or attempts to sell goods or services
- Buying, selling, or promoting drugs, alcohol, weapons, or other illegal items
- Creating multiple or fake accounts, or evading a ban
11. Identity & Yearly Verification
You must verify your student identity to post, and re-verify each school year so we can confirm you are
still a current student. You may not reuse the same ID year after year, submit an ID that is not yours,
or tamper with the verification process. Graduated students keep limited access for a set period as
alumni; after that window, school posting access is removed.
11. Safety & AI Review
Images, profile pictures, and posts may be automatically reviewed to detect content that violates these
rules. Content flagged as inappropriate may be blocked or removed automatically, and serious violations
may be escalated for further action.
12. Enforcement
We may issue warnings, remove content, restrict features, suspend, ban, or permanently remove accounts
(including by device or network) for violations of these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice.
13. Agreement
By creating an account, logging in, or otherwise using this platform, you automatically agree to all of
the Terms of Use, Community Rules, and the Privacy Policy of this platform. If you do not agree to all of
them, do not use Cadence.
